Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Automotive Mechanic to join our mobile service team. This role involves traveling to customer sites in a fully equipped service truck to diagnose, service, and repair a wide range of vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, works well independently, and takes pride in delivering professional service on every job. This role requires strong technical knowledge, independent problem-solving, and the ability to deliver excellent service directly at customer locations. Starting July/August 2025.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair all makes and models of Class 1 to Class 3 commercial vehicles.
Conduct comprehensive preventative maintenance, and occasional emergency roadside repairs.
Perform on-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, electrical systems, and other vehicle components.
Maintain accurate service records and communicate findings and recommendations to the business owner and customers.
Operate and maintain a service truck and equipment in a safe and organized manner.
Adhere to company safety standards, procedures, and industry regulations, including utilizing cranes for lifting heavy components safely during repairs.
Provide exceptional customer service and represent Fleet Pros professionally in the field.
Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on automotive mechanic experience
Experience with light and medium-duty fleet vehicles
Strong understanding of engines, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, and emissions systems
Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions in the field
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Must own and bring basic tools
Comfortable using diagnostic software, mobile apps, and service documentation systems
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
